This year I am back in a Year 2 class but am excited to be undertaking the BSLA training. I am looking forward to learning this approach to literacy and seeing what benefits it can have for my class.
I am also continuing to spend part of each day taking 2 children for reading recovery and also taking 4 students in a Tier 2 daily lesson.
The BSLA planning is fairly set and there is the expectation that I will be following the planning and lessons provided. So I have decided to focus on the children in my Tier 2 group for my Inquiry.
I am interested in seeing not only what the intervention can achieve over 10 or so weeks in terms of reading and writing improvement but am keen to have a particular focus on oral aquisition as well as I see this is a real lack and stumbling block. So I will be inlcuding in each lesson a particular focus on vocabularly building and retelling.
